It's the time of the season, when black figs start appearing at the market stands. Just the image of them makes my mouth watering. I know the honeylike taste of them. Unfortunately, I don't know how to stop, when I start eating them. One, three, five, seven. Oh no, I should stop now. May be one more. Or two?

Tijen, I could LIVE under a fig tree, just lying there with my mouth open! Where I lived before moving to Brittany I had a green fig tree which was very prolific, in September (in the Loire Valley).

Mmmm figs...here in California it's all over for them now, but a couple of months ago, I made thin crust little pizzas with gruyere cheese, figs and balsamic onions. Mmmm...
I like figs so muths but it's not the season in France. It's too cold actuelly !
